Shona Marsh

Shona Marsh’s new body of work has grown out of simple designs based on clean geometric lines and pattern. Using techniques such as raising and forging she is interested in creating subtle curves with delicate detailing such as the intersection of a circle through the curve of a jug, or the balance of a curve on a circle in a candlestick. The silver objects are combined with wood that is then inlayed with silver detailing. The patterns in the wood are repeated again through the reflections in the silver, giving the pieces another dimension, playing with your perception of where the wood ends and the silver begins.
