British Silver Week 2010

‘the renaissance of British silversmithing’

Now in its second year British Silver Week is aiming to further promote contemporary British silversmithing to an even wider audience. We will be promoting over 20 selling events in galleries and specialist shops across the UK. Additionally British Silver Week has a major, month long, exhibition at Chatsworth House, the home of the silver collector and connoisseur, the
Duke of Devonshire..

The Goldsmiths' Company is our lead patron and is also generously
sponsoring British Silver Week. The British Silver Week private view will be held in the livery hall at Goldsmiths' Hall on 2nd June 2009 to which the patrons, sponsors and friends of British Silver Week are all invited. Over 100 silversmiths will be displaying their wonderful work at the private view. We will also be showing a sample of one of the world's largest private collections of contemporary silversmithing, the Pearson Collection.

The selling exhibitions will start on 8th June across the UK in conjunction
with the Chatsworth House event.

We estimate that in our first year through our press and public relations campaign British Silver Week promoted modern British silversmithing to over 10 million people – we are even more ambitious for 2009!
