James Dougall

Following a successful career in Fine Art and Antiques James has fulfilled a long held ambition to become a Silversmith and Jeweller, graduating with a first class honours degree. His unusual approach to designing for silver is based on an exploration of shape and form combined with function. The objects James makes often incorporate other materials; his recent work re-evaluates shagreen and sharkskin for both their durability and decorative merits to enhance the traditional methods he uses to produce his work. James’ work has won numerous awards and has been exhibited internationally, not least at Goldsmiths’ Hall.
