 |
Suzie works from her studio in South Wales and draws much of her
inspiration from the beautiful coastline.
She studies the movement and reflections of the sea, the flowing lines of
fish and the delicate structure of ammonites and shells. These studies lead
to sketches, ideas and experimental pieces of work.
This whaletail dish is part of a collection of contemporary silverware and
jewellery. |

The clarity of geometric shapes forms the breeding grounds for my inspiration.
I begin by finding forms that exist in harmony. Then I set my mind and hands
to the task of bringing to life the objects I make.
The detail is crisp and incisive. Graphic lines that powerfully punctuate themselves
through the surface reveal my concern for the decorative expression of structures.
Each piece is hammer-formed and fabricated individually. Working with silver is
a long, organic process which affords time for me to consider the way in which
the metal plays with light reflection. |
