Nicky Collins makes silverware for daily use and celebrating life. Her designs
are pared down and minimal, emphasising the purity of the silver she uses.
Her tableware is inspired by relationships and parenthood, and explores the
themes of balance and togetherness. The work also arouses curiosity and
interest. You are invited to hold or play with it and to explore the ways in
which the pieces interact with one another.
In addition to her bespoke work and production ranges, Nicky also works to
commisson. |

I graduated from University College for the Creative Arts in June 2008 with
a first-class Honours Degree in Silversmithing, Goldsmithing and Jewellery.
A natural maker, I enjoy creating both Silversmithing and Jewellery pieces.
I work mainly in silver; much of my work contains surface contrast, whether
it is in the texturing or colouring of materials used that, I feel, compliment
the final design.
For Niki, simplicity and elegance are the ethos of sophistication. Although
drawn to industrial design and architecture, many of her designs evolve
from nature's patterns and reflections. Niki is particularly inspired by swans
- by the elegant form demonstrated in their graceful movement. |
