| A prodigious range of objects flow from Malcolm Appleby's rural Scottish
studio - from sculptural table pieces to detailed silver buttons. His work is
widely collected by public and private customers, and he is generally regarded
as one of the most original designers working in contemporary metal today.
Constant experimentation leads to highly-individual results that often reflect
his colourful personality. |

My silverwork is informed by my training and work in architecture.
I have
found the involvement with the hands-on craft of silversmithing enriching
and exciting. My work often takes simple but flowing three-dimensional
forms. I am interested in how it is balanced and what it feels like to touch. |
