Elizabeth Auriol Peers, currently at Bishopsland, graduated from London
Metropolitan in 2008. Her work is strongly influenced by the human form,
not simply the body itself, but its emotions and movements. “The human
form and its playful manifestations are what I seek to express in the curves,
bulges, folds and undulations of my pieces”. Her current work explores
functional silverware that reflects serious intent together with a certain
playfulness. “I believe that a functional piece should also hold a presence
and aura of its own.” She wants you to bestow a little of yourself within
her pieces, personalising them, for you to treasure.
Exhibitions include ‘Modern Treasures’ – Swansea Grand Theatre,
New Designers 2008, ‘Christmas @ Bishopsland’, Henley Festival and
Art-in-Action. |
