| In recent years I have been working on an increasingly large scale. This has
enabled the development of a number of concepts from my Jewellery activity
into new forms. The circular Mandala image in particular has become
strongly identified with me. I have now found a way in which this imagery
can be extended through movement.
Mandalas are abstract circular pattern forms which engender a sense of
wholeness and completion. They are cross-cultural and occur spontaneously
in many periods (e.g. Stonehenge, the rose windows of the Gothic Cathedrals,
the domes of the Mosques of Isfahan). |
