Graham Stewart
I find my inspiration in the natural world that surrounds me, from the vast Scottish landscape to a tiny detail found in my garden. I also have a great love and respect for early Scottish silver with its straightforward simplicity and integrity. I strive to honour this tradition in my own work and the results are fresh and innovative yet still retain the clean-lined qualities I admire. I love working with words and line and my pieces often feature hand cut lettering forming lines from a favourite poem, the shipping forecast or a celtic blessing spiralling in
a bowl. I delight in carving details like fish, birds, barley or furrowed fields and often include them in my more decorative work.
